At KT Tech, Inc., we’re proud of our meticulous inspection processes and capabilities. Very few shops our size can match our investments in cutting-edge inspection equipment—but we’ve made it a cornerstone of our operations because getting it right the first time matters.
This commitment to inspection excellence within our CNC precision machining services stems directly from our founder, Tai Kim. Tai began his manufacturing career in quality inspection, and his extensive knowledge of metrology and GD&T set the tone for our operations. His quality-first mindset has shaped our approach from the start.
Learn why our emphasis on inspection and quality control in manufacturing allows us to verify that your parts meet even the tightest tolerances, ensuring efficient production and preventing project delays.
Our State-of-the-Art Inspection Technology
Our equipment selection is driven by the complex needs of our customers. In our CNC Swiss turning services, we frequently manufacture micro parts that push the boundaries of precision, requiring continuous technology upgrades. Recently, for instance, we encountered a part requiring a 4-thousandth diameter hole, prompting investment in a new piece of inspection equipment.
Our inspection tools include several key systems:
Zeiss O-Inspect: This advanced system leverages a high-powered microscope to automatically detect edges and perform measurements, as well as a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) functionality for highly accurate 3D measurements. We rely on our Zeiss for our most precise measurements, allowing us to properly inspect even the most challenging parts for customers.
Keyence Vision System and CMM: This system excels at rapid measurements, and its ease of use makes it ideal for in-process quality checks to ensure consistent precision across an entire production run.
Traditional Inspection Equipment: Our comprehensive collection includes digital microscopes, profilometers, height gauges, height masters, bore gauges, and numerous other specialized tools essential for complete quality verification.
Beyond Equipment: The Human Element and Our Deep Knowledge

Equipment forms the foundation, but the true differentiator in our quality assurance process is the expertise of our team. Our leadership brings extensive experience in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), which can prove crucial in challenging situations.
High-precision inspection often requires expert judgment—vision systems, micrometers, and other tools and techniques may yield slightly different results depending on the application or setup conditions. Even small factors like part misalignment or shadows can affect measurements. To determine the most accurate result, we apply our deep metrological knowledge and interpretation of GD&T principles.
We’ve also refined our processes to exceed customer expectations of typical inspection and quality control in manufacturing. While our sampling protocols follow industry standards, our Keyence system often allows us to, in effect, perform 100% inspection with ease. The system’s speed allows us to integrate it within our workflow, and we can often check every single part, even when a customer only requires a representative sample.
Partner With Us on Precision Manufacturing
Many shops our size consider basic measurement tools sufficient, but our philosophy is different at KT Tech. We’ve heavily invested in advanced equipment because, to us, inspection and quality control in manufacturing are critical. These aren’t just steps tacked onto the end of a process–they’re the foundation of everything we do.
Our commitment to quality reduces our customers’ risk, ensures our parts’ reliability, and lets you rest easy knowing nothing substandard will ever leave our California machine shop.
